( )CASHEW KERNEL F.O.B MARKET TRENDS /Pound
( Due to grading competition premium grading differs from one producer to another. So we have categorized it in to two groups – 1) Premium 2) Standard ). Both these come under premium category. Normal grading is the most common grading but Average grading is ordinary and less accurate in our classifications. Premium S320 fetches more price than the Average (Ordinary) W320 because of uniformity in size, shape, color, look etc.).
W240 - $4.30 to $4.35 (Premium); $4.20 to $4.25 (Standard); $4.10 to $4.15 (Normal); $4.05 to$4.10 (Average/Ordinary) - Availability of Additional supply/Delivery doubtful till March-end.
W320 -$3.95 to $4.00 (Premium); $3.85 to $3.90 (Standard); $3.75 to $3.80 (Normal); $3.65 to $3.70 (Average/Ordinary) – Availability of Additional supply/Delivery doubtful till March-end.
W450 -$3.65 to $3.70 (Premium); $3.55 to $3.60 (Standard); $3.45 to $3.50 (Normal); $3.40 to $3.45 (Average/Ordinary) – Availability of Additional supply/Delivery doubtful till March-end.
Because of the over-selling in the global cashew kernel till March-end/April, getting a clear picture of the market or market trends is not possible. Over-selling or over-buying usually happens during the volatile Forex conditions. For more information, please read our articles : 1) Cashew Flashback 2011. 2) Falling Rupee Fuelled Forward Contract Competition.
Supply is always essential to determine the price. If there are no new offers or no extra supply resources and mainly contracted/committed supply/delivery is possible till March-end/April, there will be no market access at all. At present, most kernel exporters have enough export commitments for March delivery and they can not sell more than what they have or beyond their capacity.
